Meet the
stoneybrook Family
The Border Collie holds the number one title for intelligence and trainability in the canine world. These dogs excel in their ability to interpret body language, both human and livestock. They have a keen herding instinct and a tremendous amount of drive, which is what makes them excellent candidates for ranch work. Border Collies learn very quickly and can be taught to perform a wide variety of tasks. Not only do they play a vital role in many farming operations, Border Collies can also be trained for agility, fly-ball, herding competition, even community service work such as search and rescue or therapy dogs. The important thing to remember if considering the addition of a Border Collie to your family is; do you have ample time, space and energy to devote to this dog? Border Collies thrive as working dogs. They need a job to perform; some form of physical or intellectual stimulation on a daily basis. These dogs not only have a high level of stamina, but a keen ability to be independent thinkers. If the owner does not provide a constructive outlet for this energy, the dog will create his or her own means of entertainment, which can ultimately spell disaster. They also demand a lot of attention and physical contact. So, if you are willing to dedicate your evenings, weekends and ultimately half of the bed to your canine counterpart, then a Border Collie might be a good match for you! Contact us for further information or to check on availability of pups Preference will be given to working homes or those having former experience with the Border Collie breed. Thanks for visiting!
