A little about myself
I have worked as a Veterinary Technician in a small animal practice for nearly 13 years now. Animals have always been my passion. My husband and I have been in the farming industry for 20+ years. He raises beef cattle, I raise the sheep and my daughter raises Alpine dairy goats. The three of us jokingly quarrel about who loses the most money at the end of the year...We all know who works the hardest, that's not up for debate! Farming is quite similar to gambling, it gets in your blood and you always think next year is going to be the best one yet! In all honesty, none of us would be in this business if it weren't for the fact that we love the animals and truly enjoy the livelihood of it all.
I started raising Border Collies and Maremmas when I discovered what an asset they were to our own operation. Since then it has become my goal to preserve and promote the natural working qualities of these two breeds. That is not to say that I would refuse to sell a Border Collie to someone who does not own or operate a farm. I do, however, want to make sure you know what you're getting into. Border Collies and Maremmas both have a need for mental as well as physical stimulus. In a nutshell, these dogs were selectively bred for one purpose, herding or guarding livestock. And quite frankly, they do need a job! If left unattended for long periods of time they will take it upon themselves to find entertainment.
It is very important to me that the pups I sell go to homes in which they will excel, and that the owners likewise are equally pleased with them.
